Spring Fever

It looks like spring has arrived! I want to hold spring in my arms and dance about in a field full of flowers. I've been waiting so long. For some reason, even though I lived in Russia, this winter has been particularly hard. That may have to do with the precarious situation I have got myself into with the heat company, but whatever. It was damn cold this winter and I am glad to see it gone.In anticipation, I've been buying up all the plants I find. On an adventure at a local nursery, I was told to put back everything I had because it is still too early. I was forced to buy house plants, of which I have several now.
Also, I cleared the garden at Greg's apartment. He has a small square of yard next to his apartment that is all his. The previous tenant had filled most of it in with stone. He must have been a classy gent! So I took it upon myself to clean it up, move some rock, and plant some flowers. Needless to say, the landlord and I are now best friends. I think he is going to buy me one of those matching heart necklaces!
It seems as I age, the meaning of things is changing. I don't remember caring about the seasons as a teenager or young adult. I just recall ignoring my father when he said it was still too cold to swim and then finding out the hard way that he was right! Now, I anticipate each season for their unique characteristics. So I bid winter farewell and welcome spring with open arms. Make my plants grow and let me enjoy eating outside as dusk covers everything.
